Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet, torque wrench, multimeter.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow engine components to cool before beginning work.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Using a socket set, remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  • Locate the faulty ignition coil.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil straight up to remove it from the cylinder head.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to ensure a good seal.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Secure the ignition coil with the bolt(s) and tighten to manufacturer specifications (typically around 10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reassemble Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts removed earlier. Ensure all clips and fittings are properly aligned.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery securely.
