Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, battery charger (optional), torque wrench.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is in park and the engine is off before proceeding.
2. Disconnect Battery
  • Locate the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Use a socket wrench to loosen and disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Wait for at least 10 minutes to ensure all power is drained from the electrical system.
3. Access TCM
  • Locate the Transmission Control Module (usually under the driver’s side dash or near the transmission).
  • If needed, remove any covers or panels obstructing access to the TCM.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the TCM by pressing down on the release tab and pulling the connector out.
4. Reset TCM
  • Reconnect the wiring harness to the TCM.
  • Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery terminal and tighten it securely.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the vehicle for about 10 seconds to allow the TCM to reset.
5. Confirm Reset
  • Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
  • Use an OBD-II scanner to check for any error codes and verify that the transmission control system is functioning correctly.
