Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Locate the screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Use the appropriate socket size to remove the screws/bolts.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and extension
  • Identify the ignition coils covering the spark plugs.
  • Remove the bolts securing each ignition coil (typically 10mm).
  • Gently pull up on each ignition coil to disconnect it from the spark plug.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket and ratchet
  • Use the spark plug socket with an extension to reach the spark plugs.
  • Turn counterclockwise to loosen and remove each spark plug.
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (optional but recommended).
  • Hand-tighten each new spark plug into the cylinder head.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13 lb-ft for Honda).
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reinstall each ignition coil by pushing it back onto the spark plugs until it clicks into place.
  • Secure each ignition coil with its respective bolt.
  • Reattach the engine cover using the previously removed screws/bolts.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
  • Ensure all tools are removed from the engine bay.
