Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove the Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the throttle body on the intake manifold.
    2. Remove any air intake ducting connected to the throttle body.
    3. Unplug the electrical connector from the throttle body.
    4. Remove the mounting bolts (typically 10mm) using a socket set.
    5. Carefully detach the throttle body from the manifold.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush or cloth to remove carbon deposits from the throttle body.
    2. Pay special attention to the throttle plate and inside the bore.
    3. Allow the cleaner to evaporate before reinstallation.
4. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Position the cleaned throttle body back onto the intake manifold.
    2. Install and hand-tighten the mounting bolts to secure it.
    3. Reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle body.
    4. Reattach any air intake ducting removed earlier.
5. Reset the Engine Control Unit (ECU)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
    2. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) for about 30 seconds to allow the ECU to recalibrate.
    3. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
