Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Multimeter
    • Screwdriver set
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical shock.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Use a socket set to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Disconnect Ignition Coil
  • Identify the faulty ignition coil based on diagnostic results.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it out.
  • Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using the socket set.
4. Replace Ignition Coil
  • Carefully pull the old ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
  • Install the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it is seated properly.
  • Secure the ignition coil with the mounting bolt(s) and tighten to the manufacturer’s specified torque value (usually around 89-108 in-lbs).
5. Reconnect Electrical Connector
  • Plug the electrical connector back onto the new ignition coil until it clicks into place.
  • Repeat the removal and replacement process for any additional faulty ignition coils.
6. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
  • Ensure all components are reinstalled correctly.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and ensure it is tight.
