Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, engine oil, oil filter wrench, and multimeter.
  • Disconnect the vehicle's battery to avoid electrical shocks or shorts.
2. Engine Oil Change
  1. Drain Oil
    • Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan, remove the oil drain plug using a socket wrench, and allow the old oil to drain completely.
  2. Replace Oil Filter
    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter before installing it.
    • Install the new oil filter by hand, tightening it until snug (do not over-tighten).
  3. Refill Engine Oil
    • Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it to the manufacturer’s specified torque (generally around 25-30 ft-lbs).
    • Pour the recommended type and amount of new engine oil into the oil filler neck.
3. Inspect Engine Components
  1. Check Timing Chain/Belt
    • Remove the engine cover or timing belt cover as necessary.
    • Inspect the timing chain/belt for wear, tension, and alignment. Replace if worn or stretched.
  2. Tighten Bolts and Components
    • Inspect and tighten any loose bolts on the engine mounts, timing cover, and other associated components to eliminate knocking noises.
  3. Replace Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils if Faulty
    • Remove the spark plug wires and use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plugs. Install new spark plugs and reconnect the wires securely.
