Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Transmission fluid pump, socket set, wrench set, funnel.
  • Remove the transmission drain plug and allow the old fluid to completely drain into a container.
  • Replace the transmission drain plug with a new seal.
  • Use the transmission fluid pump to fill the transmission with the correct type of fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
  • Safety Warning: Ensure the vehicle is secured with wheel chocks and jack stands before working underneath.
3. Replace Transmission Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wrench set, torque wrench, gasket scraper.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using the socket set and carefully detach the pan.
  • Clean the pan and magnet inside it to remove debris.
  • Replace the old transmission filter with the new one, ensuring the O-rings are properly seated.
  • Reinstall the transmission pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
4. Inspect and Replace Transmission Solenoids
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter.
  • Remove the transmission control module cover to access the solenoids.
  • Disconnect the solenoid wiring harness and remove the faulty solenoid(s).
  • Test new solenoids for resistance and replace if necessary.
  • Reconnect wiring harness and ensure the connections are secure.
