Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts. Ensure the car is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shocks.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  • Tools Needed: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket.
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  • Locate cylinder 3 spark plug (refer to the engine diagram).
  • Use the spark plug socket to unscrew the old spark plug.
  • Inspect the old spark plug for signs of wear or damage.
  • Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug.
  • Install the new spark plug by hand to avoid cross-threading, then torque to manufacturer's specifications (typically 22 lb-ft or 30 Nm).
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  • Tools Needed: Socket set.
  • Locate the ignition coil for cylinder 3.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
  • Remove the ignition coil by unscrewing any retaining bolts.
  • Install the new ignition coil and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check Fuel Injector
  • Tools Needed: Fuel injector cleaning kit or replacement injector if necessary.
  • If injector operation is suspected to be faulty, remove the fuel rail to access the injector for cylinder 3.
  • Clean or replace the injector as needed.
  • Reinstall the fuel rail and ensure all connections are tight.
5. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle.
  • Check for any engine noises or irregularities.
