Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during the repair.
2. Inspect and Replace Components
  • Gas Cap Inspection:

    • Remove the gas cap and inspect the O-ring for wear or damage.
    • If damaged, replace the gas cap with a new one.
  • Hose and Connections Check:

    • Inspect all EVAP hoses for cracks, splits, or disconnections.
    • Replace any damaged hoses with OEM or equivalent parts.
3. Replace Purge and Vent Valves
  • Remove Purge Valve:

    • Locate the purge valve on the engine bay.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector and vacuum hoses.
    • Remove the purge valve mounting bolts and take it out.
  • Install New Purge Valve:

    • Position the new purge valve and secure it with mounting bolts.
    • Reconnect the vacuum hoses and electrical connector.
  • Remove Vent Valve:

    • Locate the vent valve, typically near the fuel tank.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the mounting bolts.
    • Take out the old vent valve.
  • Install New Vent Valve:

    • Install the new vent valve and secure it with bolts.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Perform a Smoke Test
  • Conduct a smoke test on the EVAP system to ensure all connections are sealed properly and that there are no further leaks.
5. Reconnect Battery and Clear Codes
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0455 code and any additional codes.
  • Start the engine and check for any reoccurring codes.
