Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for repair.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat, stable surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical issues.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  1. Raise the Vehicle: Use a jack to lift the front of the car and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Remove Wheels: Use a socket set to remove the front wheels for better access to the CV joints.
  3. Inspect CV Joints: Visually inspect the outer and inner CV joints for torn boots or grease leakage.
  4. Remove Damaged CV Joint:
    • Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts securing the CV joint to the hub and the transmission.
    • Carefully slide the CV joint off the axle.
  5. Install New CV Joint:
    • Grease the new CV joint as per manufacturer specifications.
    • Slide the new joint onto the axle and secure it with the previously removed bolts.
    • Torque bolts to manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Check and Replace Steering Components (if necessary)
  1. Inspect Power Steering Fluid: Check the reservoir for fluid level and condition; replace if low or contaminated.
  2. Inspect Steering Rack: Look for any leaks or damage; replace if necessary.
  3. Reassemble: Reinstall wheels, lower the vehicle, and reconnect the battery.
