Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.
  • Allow the engine to cool before working on any components.
2. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the engine cover (if applicable) using a socket set.
  • Disconnect the ignition coils by pulling the connectors off.
  • Unscrew the spark plugs using a spark plug socket and ratchet.
  • Install new spark plugs, ensuring they are torqued to manufacturer specifications (typically around 23 Nm).
  • Reconnect the ignition coils and replace the engine cover.
3. Clean MAF Sensor
  • Locate the MAF sensor in the air intake.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the MAF sensor from the housing.
  • Use MAF sensor cleaner to spray the sensor gently. Do not touch the sensor elements.
  • Allow the sensor to dry before reinstalling it into the air intake.
4. Inspect and Repair Air Intake System
  • Visually inspect the air intake duct for cracks or loose connections.
  • Replace any damaged air intake hoses or clamps.
  • Ensure the air filter is clean; replace if necessary.
5. Check Fuel Pressure
  • Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition to the "ON" position (do not start the engine) and observe the pressure reading.
  • If the pressure is below specifications (check manufacturer specs), replace the fuel pump or filter as needed.
