Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to ensure safety.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any engine cover or components obstructing access to the fuel injectors.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers.
  • Safety Warning: Ensure engine is cool before starting.
3. Disconnect Fuel Injector Connectors
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from each fuel injector.
  • Use a small flat-head screwdriver to release the locking tabs if necessary.
4. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Remove the bolts securing the fuel rail using a socket wrench.
  • Gently lift the fuel rail to detach it from the intake manifold, being careful not to damage the injectors.
  • Tools Required: Socket set.
5. Replace Faulty Fuel Injector
  • Remove the faulty fuel injector from the fuel rail by carefully pulling it out.
  • Lubricate the O-ring of the new injector with clean engine oil.
  • Insert the new fuel injector into the fuel rail until it clicks into place.
  • Tools Required: Pliers (if needed).
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail and Connectors
  • Position the fuel rail back onto the intake manifold and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each fuel injector.
  • Tools Required: Socket set.
7. Reassemble Engine Cover
  • Replace any components or engine covers that were removed.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, screwdrivers.
8. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Start the engine and check for leaks around the fuel injectors.
  • Tools Required: None.
