Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, jack stands, floor jack, clutch alignment tool, bleed kit.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and secure with jack stands.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues while working.
2. Remove Transaxle
  1. Disconnect Driveshaft:
    • Remove the bolts securing the driveshaft to the differential.
    • Slide the driveshaft out of the transmission.
  2. Remove Transmission Mounts:
    • Remove the bolts securing the transmission mounts.
    • Support the transmission with a jack.
  3. Unplug Electrical Connectors:
    • Disconnect any electrical connectors linked to the transmission.
  4. Unbolt Transmission:
    • Remove the bolts securing the transmission to the engine.
    • Carefully lower the transmission from the vehicle.
3. Replace Clutch Components
  1. Remove Old Clutch Assembly:
    • Unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel and remove the clutch disc.
  2. Inspect Flywheel:
    • Check for wear or scoring. If the flywheel is damaged, it should be resurfaced or replaced.
  3. Install New Clutch:
    • Position the new clutch disc onto the flywheel using a clutch alignment tool.
    • Install the new pressure plate and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 20-25 Nm).
4. Reassemble Transmission
  1. Reinstall Transmission:
    • Lift the transmission back into place and align it with the engine.
    • Secure with bolts and torque to specifications.
  2. Reconnect Driveshaft and Electrical Connectors:
    • Reinstall the driveshaft and secure with bolts.
    • Reconnect all electrical connectors previously unplugged.
5. Bleed Clutch System
  • Use a bleed kit to remove any air from the hydraulic clutch system, ensuring proper clutch operation.
