Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, small flat-head screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032), multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side faces the correct direction.
  3. Snap the key fob casing back together until secure.
3. Re-sync Key Fob with Vehicle
  1. Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed.
  2. Insert the key fob into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the unlock button on the key fob for at least 10 seconds.
  4. Turn the key fob back to the "Off" position and remove it from the ignition.
  5. Test the fob by pressing the unlock button to see if the doors respond.
4. Check Keyless Entry Receiver
  1. Locate the keyless entry receiver, typically found near the rearview mirror or under the dashboard.
  2. Inspect the wiring for any signs of damage or disconnection.
  3. If necessary, reconnect any loose wires or replace the receiver if found defective.
