Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work.
2. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  • Remove the engine oil drain plug using a socket set and drain the old oil into a container.
  • Replace the oil filter using an oil filter wrench.
  • Install the new oil filter and ensure it's properly seated.
  • Reinstall the drain plug and tighten to manufacturer specifications (usually around 25 Nm).
  • Fill the engine with the correct type and amount of oil as specified in the owner's manual.
3. Replace VVT Solenoid
  • Locate the VVT solenoid (usually found near the camshaft cover).
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the solenoid.
  • Remove the mounting bolts using a socket set and carefully take out the solenoid.
  • Install the new VVT solenoid, tightening the bolts to the specified torque (typically around 10 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect and Replace Timing Chain/Belt (if necessary)
  • Remove any obstructions to access the timing chain/belt.
  • Refer to the service manual for specific procedures to align timing marks.
  • If wear or misalignment is detected, replace the timing chain/belt according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Reassemble all components in reverse order and ensure proper alignment.
5. Reconnect Battery and Clear Codes
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0011 code and any other related codes.
