Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to avoid electrical shorts.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner
  • Socket set
  • Torque wrench
  • Compression tester
  • Fuel injector tester
  • Screwdriver set
2. Replace Spark Plug and Ignition Coil
  1. Remove Engine Cover: If applicable, take off the engine cover to access the ignition components.
  2. Remove Ignition Coil:
    • Unscrew the bolts holding the ignition coil for cylinder 2.
    • Carefully pull the ignition coil out of the cylinder head.
  3. Replace Spark Plug:
    • Using a spark plug socket, remove the spark plug from cylinder 2.
    • Inspect the old spark plug for wear; replace it with a new spark plug (ensure correct gap).
  4. Install New Ignition Coil:
    • Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head.
    • Torque the ignition coil bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically 7-10 Nm).
  5. Reinstall Engine Cover: If removed, place the engine cover back on.
3. Check Fuel Injector
  1. Remove Fuel Injector:
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel injector on cylinder 2.
    • Unscrew and remove the fuel injector using a socket.
  2. Test Fuel Injector:
    • Use a fuel injector tester to ensure it is functioning properly. If faulty, replace with a new fuel injector.
  3. Reinstall Fuel Injector:
    • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new injector before installation.
    • Secure the injector in place and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Reconnect Battery and Clear Codes
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0302 code from the vehicle's computer.
