Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts, and ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket
  • Remove the ignition coil for cylinder 3:
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Remove the mounting bolts.
    3. Pull the ignition coil out carefully.
  • Remove the old spark plug:
    1. Use a spark plug socket to unscrew the spark plug.
    2. Inspect the old spark plug for signs of wear or fouling.
  • Install a new spark plug:
    1. Gap the new spark plug to manufacturer specifications.
    2. Hand-tighten the spark plug and then use a torque wrench to tighten to the specified torque (typically around 24 Nm).
  • Reinstall the ignition coil:
    1. Position it back in place and secure it with bolts.
    2. Reconnect the electrical connector.
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  • If the ignition coil was found faulty during diagnostics:
    1. Remove the ignition coil as described in the previous step.
    2. Install the new ignition coil by reversing the removal steps.
    3. Ensure it is securely connected and bolted down.
4. Inspect/Replace Fuel Injector
  • If the fuel injector is suspected to be faulty:
    1. Remove the fuel rail (ensure to relieve fuel pressure first).
    2. Disconnect the fuel line and electrical connector to the injector.
    3. Remove the injector from the rail.
    4. Inspect for clogs or damage; if necessary, replace with a new injector.
    5. Reassemble the fuel rail with the injector and reconnect the fuel line, ensuring no leaks.
