Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set (10mm socket recommended)
    • Torque wrench
    • Multimeter
    • Safety gloves
    • Safety goggles
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the negative terminal first to prevent short circuits.
    • Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect from battery acid.
2. Remove the Old Battery
  1. Open the trunk and locate the battery compartment.
  2. Disconnect the negative terminal (black cable) using a socket wrench and secure it away from the battery.
  3. Disconnect the positive terminal (red cable) in the same manner.
  4. Remove any securing brackets or covers that hold the battery in place.
  5. Carefully lift the battery out of the compartment, ensuring to maintain a straight posture to avoid spilling any acid.
3. Install the New Battery
  1. Place the new battery into the compartment, ensuring it is oriented correctly with the positive and negative terminals aligned.
  2. Reattach the securing brackets or covers to hold the battery securely in place.
  3. Connect the positive terminal first, tightening it with a socket wrench to ensure a secure connection.
  4. Connect the negative terminal, again tightening it securely.
  5. Double-check all connections to ensure they are tight and free of corrosion.
4. Reset and Test
  1. Turn on the vehicle to ensure it starts without issues.
  2. Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage, which should be around 12.6 volts when the engine is off.
  3. Monitor the electrical systems to confirm all accessories are functioning properly.
