Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, ratchet, extension, flathead screwdriver, dielectric grease.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool if it has been running.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket or ratchet to remove any bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set aside.
3. Access Ignition Coils
  • Locate the ignition coils on top of the engine (usually one per cylinder).
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling upward.
4. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Use a socket to remove the bolts securing each ignition coil in place.
  • Gently pull each ignition coil straight out of the spark plug well. If stuck, lightly wiggle or twist to free it.
5. Install New Ignition Coils
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the new ignition coil connectors.
  • Insert each new ignition coil into its respective spark plug well, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Secure each coil with its bolt and tighten to the manufacturer's torque specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm).
6. Reconnect Electrical Connectors
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil until you hear a click, indicating they are secure.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Place the engine cover back onto the engine and secure with bolts removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
