Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, torque wrench, feeler gauge, and dielectric grease.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool before starting work.
2. Remove Spark Plugs
  • Locate the spark plug wires or ignition coils and carefully disconnect them.
  • Use a spark plug socket to unscrew and remove the spark plugs from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for signs of wear or damage.
3. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Set the gap of the new spark plugs to the manufacturer's specification using a feeler gauge.
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the threads of the new spark plugs to prevent seizing.
  • Install the new spark plugs by hand to avoid cross-threading, then torque them to the manufacturer's specification (typically around 15 Nm).
4. Reconnect Components
  • Reattach the ignition coils or spark plug wires securely.
  • Reconnect the battery.
5. Clear Codes and Test
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear any stored trouble codes.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to ensure smooth operation.
