Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear, including gloves and goggles.
2. Inspect and Fix Brake Fluid Leaks
  • Tools Required: Wrench set, brake line cleaner, rags
  • Inspect all brake lines, hoses, and connections for leaks.
  • If any leaks are found, tighten or replace the affected components.
  • Clean any spilled brake fluid with brake line cleaner and rags.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Tools Required: Brake bleeder kit, clear tubing, container
  • Start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder (usually the passenger rear).
  • Attach the clear tubing to the bleeder valve on the caliper and place the other end in the container.
  • Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times and hold it down.
  • Open the bleeder valve to release fluid and air, then close it before the pedal is released.
  • Repeat this process until no air bubbles are seen in the fluid.
  • Continue bleeding in the following order: passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front.
  • Ensure the master cylinder is kept full during the process.
4. Test the Brake Pedal
  • Once bleeding is complete, check the brake pedal feel.
  • If still spongy, further inspect the master cylinder and brake booster for faults.
