Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues during the repair.
2. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  1. Drain Old Oil:

    • Locate the oil drain plug under the vehicle.
    • Place a drain pan under the plug and remove the plug using a socket wrench.
    • Allow the oil to fully drain.
  2. Replace Oil Filter:

    • Locate the oil filter; use an oil filter wrench to remove it.
    • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
    • Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten further according to specifications.
  3. Add New Oil:

    • Replace the drain plug and torque to manufacturer specifications.
    • Use the appropriate engine oil as specified in the owner's manual.
    • Pour new oil into the oil filler neck.
3. Test and Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit (if needed)
  1. Locate Sending Unit:

    • Identify the oil pressure sending unit typically found on the engine block.
  2. Remove and Inspect:

    • Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the unit using a socket.
    • Inspect the unit for any damage or leaks.
  3. Install New Sending Unit:

    • Install a new oil pressure sending unit, tightening it to the specified torque.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Reset Warning Light
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and check for the low oil pressure warning light.
  • If the light remains, use the OBD-II scanner to clear any stored codes.
