Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts: OBD-II scanner, wrench set, brake fluid, brake bleeder kit, and safety goggles.
  • Ensure vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical issues.
2. Inspect and Repair Leaks
  • Sub-step 1: Check the master cylinder for leaks. If leaking, replace the master cylinder.
  • Sub-step 2: Inspect brake lines for damage or corrosion. Replace any damaged sections of the brake line.
  • Sub-step 3: Inspect calipers for leakage. If calipers are leaking, replace them.
3. Bleed the Brake System
  • Sub-step 1: Reconnect the battery.
  • Sub-step 2: Fill the master cylinder reservoir with new brake fluid.
  • Sub-step 3: Using a brake bleeder kit, start bleeding the brakes at the farthest wheel from the master cylinder (usually the passenger rear).
  • Sub-step 4: Repeat the process for all wheels in the correct order (passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front) until no air bubbles are visible in the fluid.
4. Test Brake Booster
  • Sub-step 1: Start the engine and press the brake pedal several times. If the pedal becomes firmer after the first press, the booster is functioning properly.
  • Sub-step 2: If the pedal does not firm up, inspect the vacuum hose and connections to the brake booster for leaks and replace as necessary.
