Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool down completely before starting work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Locate the screws/bolts securing the engine cover and remove them using the appropriate socket.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and extension
  • Identify the ignition coils located above the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from each ignition coil by pressing the tab and pulling it out.
  • Remove the bolts securing each ignition coil using a socket and ratchet, then gently pull out the ignition coils to expose the spark plugs.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket and ratchet
  • Use the spark plug socket to carefully unscrew and remove each old spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear patterns to further assess engine health.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, spark plug socket
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Carefully thread the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand to avoid cross-threading.
  • Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 22 Nm or 16 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and socket
  • Reinstall each ignition coil by aligning it with the spark plug and pressing it down until it seats properly.
  • Secure each coil with its bolt and reconnect the electrical connectors.
7. Replace Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Align the engine cover back in place and reattach it using the screws/bolts previously removed.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery to complete the process.
