Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  1. Remove the engine cover if applicable.
  2. Use a socket wrench to remove the spark plug wires or coils.
  3. Remove the spark plugs using a spark plug socket.
  4. Inspect the spark plugs for wear; replace any that are worn or fouled.
  5. Install new spark plugs, ensuring they are gapped correctly according to specifications.
  6. Reattach the spark plug wires or coils.
3. Inspect and Replace Ignition Coils
  1. Remove the engine cover if not already done.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
  3. Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils and carefully pull them out.
  4. Install new ignition coils and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
  5. Reconnect the electrical connectors.
4. Check for Vacuum Leaks
  1. Visually inspect all vacuum hoses and connections for cracks or disconnections.
  2. Use a smoke machine or carb cleaner to test for leaks around the intake manifold.
  3. Replace any damaged hoses or repair leaks found during inspection.
5. Clean MAF Sensor and Throttle Body
  1. Disconnect the MAF sensor connector and remove the sensor from the intake.
  2. Clean the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Do not touch the sensor element.
  3. Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.
  4. Clean the throttle body using throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth.
  5. Reinstall the throttle body and MAF sensor.
