Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, OBD-II scanner, and screwdriver.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool to avoid burns.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Using a socket set, remove the bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Remove the Alternator Belt
  • Locate the serpentine belt tensioner.
  • Use a wrench to rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and relieve tension on the belt.
  • Slide the belt off the alternator pulley and then off the other pulleys.
4. Disconnect the Alternator
  • Remove the electrical connector from the alternator by pressing the release tab and pulling it out.
  • Unscrew the alternator's retaining bolts using a socket set (typically 2-3 bolts).
5. Remove the Alternator
  • Carefully slide the alternator out of its mounting bracket.
  • If necessary, maneuver around other components to remove it completely.
6. Install New Alternator
  • Position the new alternator into the mounting bracket.
  • Secure with the retaining bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer's torque specifications (usually around 37 Nm).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the alternator.
7. Reinstall Alternator Belt
  • Route the serpentine belt around the pulleys according to the belt routing diagram.
  • Use the tensioner to apply tension to the belt and ensure proper placement.
8. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the bolts removed earlier.
9. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
