Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, flat location.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Battery Inspection
  1. Use a multimeter to measure the battery voltage; it should read at least 12.4 volts.
  2. Clean the battery terminals with a wire brush and reconnect them securely.
  3. If the battery is weak or old (over 3-5 years), replace it with a new one.
3. Starter Motor Replacement
  1. Remove the starter motor:

    • Lift the vehicle safely using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
    • Remove any components obstructing access to the starter (e.g., air intake duct).
    • Unplug the electrical connections from the starter motor.
    • Remove the mounting bolts securing the starter motor and take it out.
  2. Install the new starter motor:

    • Position the new starter motor in place and secure it with bolts to the engine block.
    • Reconnect the electrical connections to the starter.
4. Ignition Switch Testing/Replacement
  1. Remove the steering column cover to access the ignition switch.
  2. Test the switch using a multimeter for continuity.
  3. If defective, disconnect the battery and replace the ignition switch.
  4. Reassemble the steering column cover.
5. Fuel System Check
  1. Inspect the fuel pump relay and fuse.
  2. Test the fuel pump operation by turning the ignition key to the "ON" position and listening for the pump.
  3. If the pump is inoperative, it may need replacement.
