Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, fluid pump, multimeter, and torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Fluid Change
  • Check Fluid Level and Condition:

    1. Remove the transmission dipstick (if equipped) and check the fluid level. Add fluid if low.
    2. If the fluid appears dark or burnt, proceed to change the fluid.
  • Drain Transmission Fluid:

    1. Position a drain pan under the transmission pan.
    2. Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket set and carefully lower the pan.
    3. Allow the old fluid to fully drain out into the pan.
  • Replace Transmission Filter:

    1. Remove the old filter from the transmission, if applicable.
    2. Install the new filter, ensuring it is seated properly.
  • Reinstall the Transmission Pan:

    1. Clean the mating surfaces of the pan and transmission.
    2. Apply a new gasket or sealant as required.
    3. Reattach the pan using the socket set, tightening the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque values.
  • Refill Transmission Fluid:

    1. Use a fluid pump to fill the transmission with the correct type and amount of new fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
    2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature, then check fluid levels again, adding more if necessary.
3. Solenoid Replacement (if required)
  • Remove Transmission Control Module:

    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the TCM.
    2. Remove the mounting bolts and carefully take out the TCM.
  • Access and Replace Solenoids:

    1. Remove the transmission pan again if not done during fluid change.
    2. Locate the solenoids; disconnect their electrical connectors and remove them.
    3. Install the new solenoids, ensuring proper orientation and connection.
4. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the battery terminals and ensure they are tight.
