Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent any electrical shorts.
  • Allow the engine to cool down if previously running.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  1. Locate the Spark Plug:
    • Remove engine cover if applicable using a socket set.
  2. Remove the Old Spark Plug:
    • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to remove the spark plug from cylinder 1.
  3. Inspect the Spark Plug:
    • Check for signs of wear, damage, or carbon buildup.
  4. Install New Spark Plug:
    • Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug.
    • Install the new spark plug hand-tight, then torque to manufacturer specifications (typically around 15 Nm).
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  1. Disconnect the Ignition Coil Connector:
    • Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
  2. Remove the Ignition Coil:
    • Unscrew the bolts securing the ignition coil and gently pull it out.
  3. Install New Ignition Coil:
    • Insert the new ignition coil into the cylinder head and secure it with bolts.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check and Replace Fuel Injector (if necessary)
  1. Access the Fuel Injector:
    • Remove any necessary components to gain access to the fuel rail.
  2. Disconnect Fuel Injector Connector:
    • Unplug the electrical connector from the injector.
  3. Remove the Fuel Injector:
    • Remove bolts securing the fuel rail, then gently pull the injector out.
  4. Install New Fuel Injector:
    • Lubricate the O-ring of the new injector with clean engine oil.
    • Insert the new injector into the rail and reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall any components that were removed during the process.
  • Reconnect the vehicle battery.
  • Start the engine and check for smooth operation.
