Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, transmission fluid, funnel, and rags.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Check Fluid Level:

    • Remove the transmission dipstick (if applicable) and wipe clean.
    • Reinsert and check the fluid level; add fluid if low.
  • Replace Fluid (if necessary):

    • Remove the transmission drain plug and allow fluid to drain completely.
    • Replace the drain plug and torque to manufacturer specifications.
    • Remove the transmission fill plug and use a funnel to add new transmission fluid per model specifications.
3. Inspect and Replace Transmission Filter
  • Remove Component:

    • Remove the transmission pan by unbolting it, starting from the corners to avoid bending.
    • Allow remaining fluid to drain from the pan.
  • Inspect and Clean:

    • Remove the old filter and inspect it for debris.
    • Clean the transmission pan and magnet (if present) to remove metal shavings.
  • Install New Filter:

    • Install the new filter by securing it in place according to specifications.
    • Reattach the transmission pan and tighten bolts in a crisscross pattern to the specified torque.
4. Test Transmission Solenoids
  • Check Solenoids:
    • Using a multimeter, check the resistance of the solenoids according to specifications.
    • Replace any faulty solenoids as needed.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test Drive
  • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.
  • Perform a test drive to check for any remaining issues with shifting.
