Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Drain Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Socket set, drain pan
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket wrench.
  • Carefully lower the pan and allow the fluid to drain completely.
3. Inspect and Replace Components
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench, gasket scraper
  • Inspect the transmission pan for damage and clean the mating surface.
  • Check the condition of the transmission filter; replace if necessary.
  • Replace any damaged seals or gaskets.
  • If the transmission cooler lines are damaged, replace them as well.
4. Reassemble Transmission
  • Tools Required: Torque wrench
  • Apply a new gasket to the transmission pan or use RTV sealant as recommended.
  • Reinstall the transmission pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 8-10 Nm).
  • Reattach any cooler lines, ensuring they are secure.
5. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Tools Required: Funnel
  • Using a funnel, refill the transmission with the appropriate type of fluid (refer to the owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Start the engine and allow it to warm up; check the fluid level again and top off as necessary.
