Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, a new cabin air filter, gloves.
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is turned off and parked on a level surface.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and remove any contents for clear access.
  2. Locate the small stop arm on either side of the glove compartment and gently push in to allow the compartment to fully drop down.
  3. Remove any screws or fasteners securing the cabin air filter access panel using the appropriate screwdriver.
  4. Carefully detach the access panel to expose the cabin air filter.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Grasp the old cabin air filter and pull it straight out of its housing.
  2. Inspect the filter for dirt and debris to confirm it's due for replacement.
  3. Dispose of the old filter properly.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Unbox the new cabin air filter and ensure it is the correct type for your vehicle.
  2. Insert the new filter into the housing, ensuring it is oriented correctly (follow the airflow direction arrows on the filter).
  3. Reattach the access panel and secure it with screws or fasteners.
  4. Lift the glove compartment back into position and re-engage the stop arms to secure it.
5. Final Checks
  1. Start the vehicle and turn on the HVAC system to ensure proper airflow.
  2. Check for any unusual noises or odors to confirm the installation was successful.
