Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: lint-free cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface for an accurate reading.
2. Checking the Oil Level
  • Step 1: Pull out the dipstick carefully and wipe it with the lint-free cloth to remove any oil residue.
  • Step 2: Insert the dipstick back into the tube fully and then pull it out again to check the level.
  • Step 3: Examine the dipstick for the oil level. The oil should be between the two marks (minimum and maximum).
  • Step 4: If the oil level is below the minimum mark, you will need to add oil.
3. Adding Oil (if necessary)
  • Step 1: Identify the type of oil required for your BMW X3 (refer to the owner’s manual).
  • Step 2: Remove the oil fill cap located on top of the engine.
  • Step 3: Use a funnel to pour the appropriate amount of oil into the engine, adding it slowly to avoid overfilling.
  • Step 4: After adding oil, recheck the oil level with the dipstick to ensure it is within the acceptable range.
  • Step 5: Replace the oil fill cap securely.
