Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: jack, lug wrench, and spare tire.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat, stable surface and the ignition is off.
  • Engage the parking brake for safety.
2. Loosen Lug Nuts
  • Using the lug wrench, turn the lug nuts counterclockwise to loosen them slightly while the tire is still on the ground. Do not remove them completely yet.
  • Recommended torque for lug nuts is typically 88 ft-lbs; ensure you don't overtighten or strip the nuts.
3. Jack Up the Vehicle
  • Position the jack under the designated lifting point near the flat tire.
  • Raise the vehicle until the tire is off the ground, ensuring it is stable.
4. Remove the Flat Tire
  • Completely remove the loosened lug nuts and place them in a safe location.
  • Carefully pull the flat tire off the wheel hub and set it aside.
5. Install the Spare Tire
  • Align the spare tire with the wheel hub and push it onto the hub.
  • Hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the wheel studs.
6. Lower the Vehicle
  • Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground using the jack.
  • Once fully lowered, remove the jack and ensure the vehicle is stable.
7. Tighten Lug Nuts
  • Using the lug wrench, tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern to ensure even pressure.
  • Refer to the torque specifications, ensuring each nut is tightened to the recommended torque (88 ft-lbs).
