Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, and safety gloves.
  • Safety warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems.
2. Remove the Oxygen Sensor
  1. Locate the front O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold (Bank 1).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the O2 sensor.
  3. Use a socket wrench to unscrew the O2 sensor from its mounting location.
3. Inspect and Clean
  1. Inspect the O2 sensor port for carbon buildup or debris; clean if necessary.
  2. Ensure the threads are in good condition to avoid exhaust leaks upon reinstallation.
4. Install New Oxygen Sensor
  1. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new O2 sensor (if applicable).
  2. Screw the new O2 sensor into the exhaust manifold and tighten it to the manufacturer's torque specification (usually around 30 Nm).
  3. Reconnect the electrical connector to the O2 sensor.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  1. Reconnect the vehicle's battery terminal.
  2. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.
  3. Use the OBD-II scanner to check for any reoccurring codes.
