Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting work.
2. Replace Spark Plug
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket, ratchet, torque wrench
  • Remove the ignition coil from cylinder 2:
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil.
    2. Unbolt the ignition coil using a socket wrench and carefully pull it out.
  • Remove the spark plug:
    1. Use a spark plug socket to remove the spark plug from cylinder 2.
    2. Inspect the old spark plug for signs of wear or fouling.
  • Install the new spark plug:
    1. Apply anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plug (optional).
    2. Hand-tighten the new spark plug, then use a torque wrench to tighten it to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 20 Nm).
3. Replace Ignition Coil
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet
  • Install the new ignition coil:
    1. Place the new ignition coil into the spark plug hole and press down until it clicks into place.
    2. Reattach the electrical connector to the ignition coil.
    3. Secure the ignition coil with the bolt.
4. Check Fuel Injector
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge, torx screwdriver
  • Inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel injector:
    1. Disconnect the fuel injector connector.
    2. Remove the retaining clips and carefully pull out the fuel injector.
    3. Install the new fuel injector and reattach the retaining clips.
    4. Reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Clear Codes and Test Drive
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Use the OBD-II scanner to clear the P0302 code.
  • Test drive the vehicle to ensure the issue is resolved.
