Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface with the engine off and cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, fuel pressure gauge, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, safety glasses, and gloves.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Remove any clips or screws securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the cover to expose the fuel injectors.
3. Disconnect Fuel Injector Wiring
  • Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty fuel injector by gently pressing the release tab.
  • Note the connector's position for reinstallation.
4. Remove Faulty Fuel Injector
  • Use a socket or wrench to remove the fuel rail bolts securing the rail to the engine.
  • Carefully lift the fuel rail away from the engine to access the fuel injector.
  • Pull the faulty fuel injector out of the fuel rail; apply gentle twisting motion if necessary.
5. Install New Fuel Injector
  • Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring of the new fuel injector for better sealing.
  • Insert the new fuel injector into the fuel rail, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Reinstall the fuel rail back onto the engine and secure with bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications (typically around 10-15 Nm).
6. Reconnect Wiring and Reinstall Engine Cover
  • Plug in the electrical connector to the new fuel injector.
  • Reinstall the engine cover, securing it with clips and screws.
7. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the battery terminals.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle; check for any leaks around the fuel injector.
  • Clear any error codes from the OBD-II scanner.
