Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is off and cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Change Engine Oil and Filter
  1. Drain Old Oil
    • Place an oil drain pan under the oil pan.
    • Remove the oil drain plug using a socket set. Allow the old oil to completely drain out.
  2. Replace Oil Filter
    • Locate the oil filter (usually cylindrical and can be accessed from the bottom or top depending on the design).
    • Use an oil filter wrench to remove the old filter.
    • Apply a small amount of new oil to the rubber gasket of the new filter.
    • Install the new oil filter by hand until snug, then tighten it an additional 3/4 turn.
  3. Add New Oil
    • Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 25-30 Nm).
    • Using a funnel, pour the correct type and amount of new engine oil (check user manual for specifications) into the engine.
3. Inspect and Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit (if needed)
  1. Locate the Sending Unit
    • Find the oil pressure sending unit, often located near the oil filter or on the engine block.
  2. Remove the Sending Unit
    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sending unit.
    • Use a wrench to remove the sending unit carefully to avoid damaging surrounding components.
  3. Install New Sending Unit
    • Install the new sending unit and torque it to manufacturer specifications.
    • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Reconnect Battery and Start Engine
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and allow it to idle for a few minutes, checking for any leaks and ensuring the oil pressure light is off.
