Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, new battery (CR2032), and cotton gloves.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area and is turned off.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be careful to avoid damaging the plastic clips that hold the casing together.
  • Note the orientation of the internal components for reassembly.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob, taking care to note its orientation.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring it is installed in the correct orientation (+/-).
  • Reassemble the key fob casing, making sure all clips are securely fastened.
4. Reprogram the Key Fob (if needed)
  • Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the working key fob into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Press and hold the lock button on the key fob for about 10 seconds.
  • Turn the ignition to the "Off" position and remove the key fob.
  • Test the key fob by pressing any button to check for functionality.
