Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather materials: clean lint-free cloth or paper towel.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Allow the engine to cool down if it has been running.
2. Check the Oil Level
  • Open the hood and secure it.
  • Locate the oil dipstick, typically found near the engine block.
  • Pull out the dipstick and wipe it thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  • Fully reinsert the dipstick into its tube until it is seated properly.
  • Remove the dipstick again and observe the oil level marking:
    • The oil should be between the minimum and maximum marks.
    • If the level is below the minimum mark, oil needs to be added.
3. Add Oil (if necessary)
  • Identify the correct type of oil as specified in the owner's manual (typically BMW Longlife-01 or Longlife-14).
  • Remove the oil filler cap located on top of the engine.
  • Using a funnel, add oil gradually, checking the level with the dipstick after each addition.
  • Replace the oil filler cap securely once the desired level is reached.
