Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
• Disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical shorts.
• Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.

2. Remove Fuel Pump

• Tools Required: Fuel line disconnect tool, socket set, torque wrench
• Locate and remove the rear seat cushion or access panel to reach the fuel pump assembly.
• Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
• Use a fuel line disconnect tool to detach the fuel lines from the pump.
• Remove the retaining ring using a suitable tool and carefully lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank.

3. Inspect and Replace

• Inspect the fuel pump for any signs of wear or damage.
• If necessary, replace the fuel pump with a new unit, ensuring it meets OEM specifications.
• Reinstall the fuel pump assembly into the tank, securing it with the retaining ring.
• Reconnect the fuel lines and the electrical connector.
