Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before starting work.
2. Clean Throttle Body
  • Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the throttle plate and surrounding areas.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Inspect and Clean MAF Sensor
  • Locate the MAF sensor in the intake system.
  • Carefully remove the MAF sensor from the housing.
  • Use MAF sensor cleaner to clean the sensor elements and avoid touching them with fingers.
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor, ensuring it is properly seated.
4. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if necessary)
  • Attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition to the "On" position (without starting) to check fuel pressure.
  • If fuel pressure is below specifications (refer to the service manual), replace the fuel pump.
  • To replace the fuel pump, remove the rear seat to access the fuel pump assembly, disconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines, and unbolt the assembly to replace the pump.
5. Inspect and Replace Idle Air Control Valve (if necessary)
  • Locate the IAC valve, typically near the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector and unbolt the valve from its mount.
  • Inspect for dirt and carbon buildup; clean or replace if necessary.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
