Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, cleaning supplies (throttle body cleaner), multimeter.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety during the repair.
2. Remove the Throttle Body
  1. Locate the throttle body on the intake manifold.
  2. Disconnect any electrical connectors and vacuum hoses attached to the throttle body.
  3. Remove the bolts securing the throttle body using a socket set.
  4. Carefully pull the throttle body away from the manifold, ensuring not to damage any gaskets.
3. Clean the Throttle Body
  1. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth or brush to clean the throttle plate and the inside of the throttle body.
  2. Pay special attention to the edges where carbon buildup may occur.
  3. Allow the throttle body to dry completely before reinstallation.
4. Inspect and Replace (if necessary)
  1. Inspect the throttle position sensor (TPS) for wear; replace if it is faulty.
  2. Check the gasket and replace if it’s damaged or worn out.
  3. If the throttle body is severely damaged, replace it with a new unit.
5. Reinstall the Throttle Body
  1. Position the cleaned or replaced throttle body onto the intake manifold.
  2. Tighten the bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque (usually around 10-15 Nm).
  3. Reconnect all electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
6. Reset the ECU
  1. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Use the OBD-II scanner to clear any stored error codes.
  3. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to allow the system to recalibrate.
