Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the ignition is off.
  • Disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Access the Fuel Pump
  • Remove the rear seat or access panel in the trunk to locate the fuel pump access cover.
  • Unscrew the access cover and disconnect any electrical connectors.
  • Carefully remove the retaining ring or screws securing the fuel pump assembly to the tank.
3. Remove the Old Fuel Pump
  • Lift the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, being careful not to damage the fuel lines.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors from the pump.
  • Remove the old fuel pump from the assembly.
4. Install the New Fuel Pump
  • Attach the new fuel pump to the fuel pump assembly, ensuring it is secured properly.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors to the new pump.
  • Carefully lower the assembly back into the fuel tank and secure it with the retaining ring or screws.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reinstall the access cover and rear seat or trunk panel.
  • Reconnect the battery and replace the fuel pump relay.
  • Turn the ignition key to the "on" position for a few seconds to prime the fuel system, then start the engine.
