Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure you have a new battery compatible with the key fob (typically CR2450).
  • Have a flathead screwdriver and a small Phillips screwdriver available.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry apart the key fob casing at the seam.
    • Be cautious to avoid damaging the plastic casing.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Note the orientation of the battery (positive side facing up).
    • Use the screwdriver to gently lift out the old battery.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    • Ensure it’s seated properly in the battery compartment.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press together until they click into place.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Vehicle:

    • Sit in the driver’s seat with the key fob.
  2. Turn Ignition On:

    • Insert the key fob into the ignition slot (if applicable) and turn it to the “On” position without starting the vehicle.
  3. Press the Lock Button:

    • Press and hold the lock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds to attempt reprogramming.
  4. Test Key Fob:

    • Exit the vehicle and test the key fob functions (lock/unlock).
