Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flat-head screwdriver, replacement battery (typically CR2032), and possibly an OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location with sufficient space to work.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing.
    • Be cautious not to damage the internal components.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Locate the battery holder and carefully remove the old battery.
    • Note the orientation of the battery for correct installation of the new one.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery (CR2032) into the holder, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) is observed.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the fob and press them together until they click securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter the Vehicle: Sit in the driver's seat with the new battery installed in the key fob.
  2. Insert the Key into the Ignition: Turn the key to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the Unlock Button: Hold the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 10 seconds.
  4. Turn Off the Ignition: Turn the key back to the "OFF" position and remove it.
  5. Test the Key Fob: Attempt to lock and unlock the doors remotely to verify functionality.
