Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, wheel bearing puller.
  • Safety Warnings: Disconnect the battery before working on electrical systems, and ensure the vehicle is secure on jack stands.
2. Remove Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts slightly while the vehicle is on the ground.
  • Raise the vehicle with a jack and support it with jack stands.
  • Fully remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Remove Brake Caliper and Rotor
  • Unbolt the brake caliper from its bracket using a socket set.
  • Carefully hang the caliper using a bungee cord or wire, ensuring not to stress the brake line.
  • Remove the rotor by pulling it straight off the hub.
4. Remove Wheel Bearing
  • Use a wheel bearing puller to extract the old bearing from the hub assembly.
  • Clean the hub surface with a wire brush to remove any debris or rust.
5. Install New Wheel Bearing
  • Apply a thin layer of grease to the new bearing's outer surface.
  • Press or tap the new bearing into place, ensuring it is seated evenly.
  • Reassemble the rotor, brake caliper, and wheel in reverse order of removal, ensuring all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
