Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for the repair.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Inspect and Replace CV Joints
  1. Raise the Vehicle
    • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
  2. Remove the Wheel
    • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  3. Inspect CV Joint
    • Check the CV joint and boot for damage or grease leakage.
  4. Remove the Damaged CV Joint
    • Unbolt the CV joint from the hub and transmission using the specified torque values.
    • Carefully slide the joint off the axle.
  5. Install New CV Joint
    • Apply grease to the new CV joint, then slide it onto the axle and secure it with bolts.
  6. Reattach the Wheel
    • Place the wheel back on and snug the lug nuts.
  7. Lower the Vehicle
    • Remove jack stands and lower the vehicle back to the ground.
3. Check and Replace Wheel Bearings (if necessary)
  1. Remove the Brake Caliper
    • Unbolt the caliper from the bracket and hang it using a bungee cord (do not let it dangle on the brake line).
  2. Remove the Rotor
    • Take off the brake rotor to access the wheel bearing.
  3. Inspect the Wheel Bearing
    • Spin the bearing; it should rotate smoothly without noise.
  4. Replace the Bearing (if faulty)
    • Use a bearing puller to remove the old bearing and press in the new one.
  5. Reassemble
    • Reattach the rotor and caliper, ensuring all bolts are torqued to specifications.
