Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Lift the Vehicle
  • Use a hydraulic jack to lift the vehicle at the designated jacking points.
  • Secure the vehicle with jack stands to ensure stability.
3. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a socket set to remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.
  • Store the wheel in a safe location.
4. Remove the Old Shock Absorbers
  • Locate the upper and lower mounting bolts of the shock absorber.
  • Use a socket wrench to remove the lower bolt first, followed by the upper bolt.
  • Carefully pull the shock absorber out from its mount.
5. Install New Shock Absorbers
  • Position the new shock absorber into place.
  • Insert and hand-tighten the upper bolt, then the lower bolt.
  • Torque the bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 45-55 Nm for upper, 70-80 Nm for lower).
6. Reinstall the Wheel
  • Place the wheel back onto the hub and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle back to the ground and fully tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to the correct torque specification (typically around 120 Nm).
7. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the battery.
  • Inspect the installation for any loose components or tools left behind.
