Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, torque wrench, socket set, bearing puller, and wheel seal installation tool.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Loosen the lug nuts slightly while the vehicle is still on the ground.
  • Lift the vehicle with the jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
3. Remove the Brake Components
  • Remove the caliper by unbolting it and securing it away from the rotor to prevent strain on the brake line.
  • Take off the brake rotor by removing any retaining screws or clips.
4. Extract the Faulty Wheel Bearing
  • Remove the hub assembly by unbolting it from the knuckle. Keep track of all mounting hardware.
  • Use a bearing puller to carefully extract the old wheel bearing from the hub assembly.
  • Clean the hub bore to ensure a proper fit for the new bearing.
5. Install New Wheel Bearing
  • Apply a light coat of grease to the new wheel bearing and install it into the hub assembly.
  • Use the bearing installation tool to ensure it is seated properly in the hub.
6. Reassemble Components
  • Reattach the hub assembly to the knuckle and torque all bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Reinstall the brake rotor and caliper, ensuring all components are secured.
  • Put the wheel back on and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
7. Lower the Vehicle and Finalize Assembly
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
